The insurance front, before it exists.
Build Capital Insurance is the name the plan gives to the insurance side of the platform. This section describes what it is drawn to cover and is candid about the fact that the way it would reach a customer has not been chosen.
What this front is drawn to cover
The architecture names four areas on this side: commercial insurance, specialty insurance programmes, agency and brokerage work, and, marked in the plan as a future direction, programme business. The first three describe placing cover for businesses. The fourth describes taking on more of the work that sits behind it, and the plan qualifies it as future rather than present.
Nothing in that list is operating. No cover has been placed, no policy has been bound, and no carrier relationship exists. The pages below describe intentions and the questions attached to them.
Commercial Insurance
The lines a business buys to trade at all. The page names them as vocabulary and is explicit that the detail behind each one has not been researched.
Industries
Where sector-by-sector work would live. There is no landed research on industry verticals, so the page carries open slots rather than a list of sectors.
Programs
Specialty insurance programmes, named in the architecture as a future direction and described on that page as an intention only.
The decision underneath all of it
There is more than one way to reach an insured, and the choice between them changes what the business is. Placing cover directly, working through established agencies, building somewhere the two meet, or financing the premium without touching the placement at all are different businesses with different obligations attached to them.
The firm has researched those routes and has not chosen between them. The choice is not a research finding waiting to be looked up; it is a judgement about what kind of business this should be, and it belongs to the principal rather than to any analysis on the tree.
What this section deliberately does not say
No commission figure appears anywhere in this section. The firm's research on commission economics carries two figures for the same idea that rest on different denominators, and its own register instructs that they must not be averaged, so neither is published and nothing is derived from them.
No carrier is named, because none has been contacted. No statement is made about what would be required to carry on any of this work, in either direction, because that is a question for counsel and it has not been put to counsel. Where a claim would need a permission the firm does not hold, the page says nothing at all rather than saying something reassuring.
The research behind these pages is internal and under review. It is not published here as a market view, and nothing in this section is an offer of insurance, an application, or a quotation.
Elsewhere on the site
The lending front sits at Build Capital Credit, and the two are related: financing a premium is a lending act, not an insurance one. The home page sets out how the parts are meant to relate, and About explains what the firm is for.
